The story

Lemon Squeezy was built by three long-time friends and prior indie software founders, JR Farr, Gilbert Pellegrom and Orman Clark, who launched it publicly in 2021 as an easy way for SaaS and digital creators to sell globally while it acts as merchant of record. The bootstrapped team turned down a reported $50 million Series A before Stripe acquired it in July 2024 to add merchant-of-record capability to its own platform. It continues to operate as a Stripe-owned product, with its legal entity now named Sold through Link, LLC.
