The story
Nomads.com was built by Dutch indie maker Pieter Levels (@levelsio), who launched it in 2014 as Nomad List, a spreadsheet-turned-website ranking cities for remote workers. It grew into a paid membership community reaching hundreds of thousands of monthly users and roughly $300k/year in revenue by 2019, and was rebranded to Nomads.com and made largely free in 2025/2026.
